Kapeu Earrings

The Kapeu ear pendant is a long narrow adornment with a slight curve or bump on the lower end.
Traditionally made of Pounamu or Whalebone they were used to soothe the gums of teething pēpi.
This contemporary design has small notches along the lower length to symbolise tamariki teeth marks and to add to the beauty of the original form.
Worn by any gender - in one or both ears, they indicate that the wearer holds status and mana especially for those raising children.
