Each korowai is carefully handcrafted by our family in New Zealand, guided by tikanga and the wisdom of kaumatua to ensure both cultural integrity and exceptional quality. This piece not only adds warmth and boldness to your child’s wardrobe but also carries the deep connection to the land and its stories, making it a meaningful and cherished garment for generations to come.
Each korowai is carefully handmade by Hiria and her family in their Auckland home studio. This size is crafted within 2 weeks, then blessed before being shipped straight to you. This size is recommended for children aged 6-12yrs.

The materials used and sourced for our contemporary designs are as follows:
Lining: Black polycotton blend
Feathers: Our contemporary korowai designs include a variety of colored craft feathers for fashion industry clothing and costumes, particularly hen and rooster coque feathers.
Bands: Our contemporary korowai designs include machine made taniko bands made locally in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
